I wasn't aware of this. But then again I'm self taught. Through a lot of trial and error. But for some reason, I never was able to get the img tag to work right. Perhaps it was the then broken html knowledge

Oh so that's the trick! I had done a trial and error way of finding this out by editing overall_header.html and with that I was only able to place links, not images

when i first opened up, I think i had triede this but i hadn't had an anti spam mod yet, so a spam user/bot or two got in, made a post and later edited a link, that lead to some quite objectionable material. I figure the 15/30 practice is sufficient. and if a member wants to still further edit it or...

Thanks for the advice on this! The method I had been using was editing the overall footer and adding my links there, and while it would work, it did not look very good on the forum. I will have to give this a try for sure!

I wasn't aware of this method. when I started my board, i edited the "registered users" group and added a default avatar, that would be replaced when a member uploaded their own.

on my forum I give the members 15 minutes to delete the topic, and 30 to edit. I fugure that is sufficient enough. I have previously been members on forums long forgotten now, where they used to allow the users to do that and it certainly messed up the flow of things.
