Re: upgrade possible?
I think that not being able to upgrade is very disappointing. I for one converted from phpbb2 to Modpnpbb3 1.5 (I think) - based on phpbb 3.04. It now means that I am 3+ versions out of date with phpbb3 and becoming increasingly vulnerable to any discovered security flaws, without any chance of doin...

Re: Header images don't show in IE7 or IE8 Compatability Mod
Fixed now thanks. Seems that there were some missing (and empty!) <span></span> tags in the overall_header.html file. Exactly why empty tags make a difference is beyond me, and no doubt some HTML/CSS expert can let us know. However, thanks for the time taken out to look.

Header images don't show in IE7 or IE8 Compatability Mode
This is my site in question: http://www.brummiesfans.com/main/ Using Internet Explorer 7, or even 8 when switching between compatability mode on & off, the header and logo images above the menu bar don't show. I don't have these problems in IE8, Chrome or Firefox. Ideally I don't want this probl...

Re: Navigation Bar Problem
I went hunting for styles with nav bars and then "borrowed" the "overall header" code for my own. Another thing that I've done is to "lift" the whole forum into layer/level 1, so as to allow for a layer / level 0 into which I stretched a full screen static background im...

No, I think it's just the standard "solid" RRGGBB values

Re: RSS News Tickers
In the end what I did was to download and install "CoffeeCup RSS News Flash"
It's a free bit of kit that allows you to create a Flash applet that you then just embed into your site as you would any other Flash app.

Re: Navigation Bar Problem
All sorted out now...seems that the relevant bits were in the last few lines of links.css (where else?)

Navigation Bar Problem
http://www.brummiesfans.com/main/index.php Can someone please tell me which CSS items control the appearance of the Navigation Bar? In particular the text colour and the roll-over/hover properties. I find it very confusing that some CSS elements are in common.css and are then repeated in colors.css,...

Changing backgrounds to blocks
Is there a way to edit the CSS so that the background "padding" to Portal blocks can change colour on roll-over / hover (call it what you will lol)? What I'd like to do is to have a semi-transparent, repeating GIF/PNG image as the permanent background, which then switches to a full-blown &...

Re: Customising ProSilver
Hi again...progress being made slowly. I've just re-hashed the border graphic, but in doing so, discovered that in reality, there are two backgrounds that I now need to change. As you can see, www.brummiesfans.com/main there is a grey table background that the forum sits in, and also there is a whit...

Re: Customising ProSilver
Thanks for the pointers in the right directions. The mechanics are working, just a case of getting some artwork rattled up. Mind you, I really could do with a pointer as to which CSS file and which attribute I need to doctor to cut down on the padding and empty spaces in the Portal left and right co...

Re: Customising ProSilver
There's a weekend ahead and I'm hoping for a bit of quality time to spend getting the style on my site a step or two nearer the target.
How will the overall_header and overall_footer need to be amended to give the menu bar and rotating masthead graphics?
Thanks
Martin

Re: Customising ProSilver
I'm already down to 150, but I think that there is more than enough padding in the cells. Which CSS controls the padding in the block tables?LDM wrote: To change box widths, have a look in portal settings..

Re: Customising ProSilver
Well, I've sorted out the rounded footer corners, but blow me down with a feather if I can find why those little Gallery and Download icons aren't showing. The server says that the files are there now but the header doesn't even seem to be keeping a space for them. ANYWAY, that's just a temporary is...

Re: Customising ProSilver
For 1) Have you got a link or screens for an example?
