I have decided to go with the chat/shout mod. The shoutbox mod on its own has appearantly been abandoned by the author. Which i think sucks quite a lot.

This one is apearantly not available anymore Ajax Shoutbox 1.2.x

and this one, AJAX Chat/Shoutbox MOD 2.0.0 Beta 8 adds a chat page as well, which i don't want, i am only looking for the shoutbox thingy. Do you perhaps have the install files and all that?

I noticed that ajax shout is for phpbb2.

how did you manage to get in installed on phpbb3? I would really like to add this feature to my board...

Can you not do this with Custom Profile Fields? Would it not have the same effect?
