No as things stand the Arcade directory as per instructions remains
leaving me with HTTP 500 internal server errors

Try installing the other ones first, then remove them after installing.

As Bitty said, thats probably where the errors were coming from as it's best to do one at a time, deleting each install file/folder as you go. Remember to set the permissions on the arcade directories too :good:

Thought would be usefull to have this here
You can do this as follows:
a) Go to System in the ACP
b) Go To Administration Control Panel under Module Management
c) Go to .MODs
d) Go to the Add Module button
e) Type in User Reminder Mod and click on Create New Module

f) Make sure you create User Reminder Mod as a new Category and have .MODs as parent. Make sure to enable it
g Click on the User Reminder Mod category
h) Go to the dropdown next to the Add Module button
i) Click on Configuration (underneath User Reminder) in the dropdown
j) Click on the Add Module button next to the drop down
k) Once added, you need to click on the Enable link next to it
l) The enable should turn into disable
m) Repeat steps h) to l) with Zero Posters, Inactive Users, Not logged in and 2nd Reminders
n) Click General
Is this all still present and correct?

Yep, converting from vanilla phpBB3 will mean you need to add some modules to your ACP.

Would you have a list of all of the modules that would need to be added?
