i might be wrong but there really isn't one, unless all you use is prosilver, if you use other styles besides prosilver and subsilver2, you might be on your own, you might have to update the style then the mods!
i just saw this, http://phpbbcommunities.com/kb.php?a=166 you could also use that for styles with a little modification to the tutorial, but i think it should work!

I'm still trying to find out the issue, updating mods on the style?

Edit: Ah its just dawned on me, your issue (I think)

Download the changed files zip package http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus. ... PL1&code=1
and update the files on your style files with the changes specified in the notepad file. That's if you haven't got prosilver modified and wanted to keep clear of inheritance.

Edit 2:
Sorry cisco, wasn't meaning to undermine your reply, just think if user00 needs to do what I think, it may be easier just to manually update the style as opposed to touching the mod edits on it, though I could be wrong and misunderstood.

First post in topic updated with Pronight 1.0.5 for phpBB version 3.0.9.

I did submit the update on phpBB back in August, but for whatever reason, it is sitting waiting to be validated.

I might in future just release the updated versions here to save all the waiting.

Hi!

I have a highly customized 3.0.8-version, I would be really glad if you posted what changes has been done =)

Also, my 3.0.8 theme doesnt inherit the prosilve files cause I have them in the ProNight folder, but that doesnt matter I guess? =D

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

Okay there are two ways.

Either make sure your prosilver files are up to date, including the mod edits, and just inherit from that with the default Pronight version at the start of the topic.

or

Go to phpBB.com and choose code changes in update package here http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus. ... 0.8&code=1

On the download, you will see all the style changes that need to be done using the prosilver edits. Just update the files within the Pronight template and css. Be wary about colour changes though as it may adjust some colours to the blue of prosilver. Anything that changes a hex code, ignore, or at least change whatever is prior to the hex code on the line.

Hi!

Thank you for answering!

This is my current situation:

I started the forum about a year ago and installed phpBB 3.0.8 and ProNight version 3.0.7 since the 3.0.8-version wasnt available then.

When the version for phpBB 3.0.8 was released in february 2011 it inherited files from prosilve, but I instead copied the prosilver files to the ProNight folder so it doesnt inherit anymore.

Now I have done some customized work to the style and I cant remember which files I have edited, it could be both files for ProNight and the prosilver-files as well.

I am going to upgrade to 3.0.9 version now, can I basically follow the instructions for upgrading prosilver to 3.0.9-version? There arent any other changes for ProNight?

The only thing that have changed in Pronight since version 3.0.8 is editing these files?:

## styles/prosilver/imageset/imageset.cfg
## styles/prosilver/style.cfg
## styles/prosilver/template/attachment.html
## styles/prosilver/template/login_body.html
## styles/prosilver/template/mcp_post.html
## styles/prosilver/template/mcp_topic.html
## styles/prosilver/template/memberlist_im.html
## styles/prosilver/template/memberlist_search.html
## styles/prosilver/template/overall_footer.html
## styles/prosilver/template/overall_header.html
## styles/prosilver/template/posting_buttons.html
## styles/prosilver/template/posting_smilies.html
## styles/prosilver/template/simple_footer.html
## styles/prosilver/template/simple_header.html
## styles/prosilver/template/template.cfg
## styles/prosilver/template/ucp_groups_manage.html
## styles/prosilver/template/ucp_pm_viewmessage_print.html
## styles/prosilver/template/viewforum_body.html
## styles/prosilver/template/viewtopic_body.html
## styles/prosilver/template/viewtopic_print.html
## styles/prosilver/theme/colours.css
## styles/prosilver/theme/cp.css
## styles/prosilver/theme/forms.css
## styles/prosilver/theme/links.css
## styles/prosilver/theme/print.css
## styles/prosilver/theme/theme.cfg
## styles/prosilver/theme/tweaks.css

?? Well, the files that belongs to ProNight which isnt all of the above, just some template files and css I guess? Os has it been any different changes for ProNight than for prosilver?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards

Jon all you would need to do is make the template and css changes via the update package http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus. ... 0.8&code=1

Every phpBB update, you would just update the template and css files via that update package.

I did take into account people that were using edits within their template files but it seemed phpBB were going with template inheritance more and changed the style to pretty much keep up.

In some ways adding the template changes yourself is easier if you are confident to make changes to files, because it removes the wait for me to update the template and for phpBB to validate the update. This way, when phpBB update, all you need to do is download the edits via their update link and apply the changes.

REMEMBER - for template updates, download the file with ftp to your computer, add the changes in notepad+ or similar and then upload the changed file again by ftp. Changes made in ACP to template will go when you purge the cache, so best to make changes locally on the file.
