General Error - Could not get style data

Just did a fresh install of Modphpbb3 1.0.6. Followed all the steps which went flawlessly... set up the DB, imported 'modded.sql', changed the 'config.php' file, uploaded all the files and checked permissions.
So then I go to complete the initial admin log in (bringing up the index in the forum root directory) I get the error "General Error - Could not get style data". All the files appear to have been uploaded. Is there something I missed?
