Phasing out phpbb2 modifications

Just a quick note to those that are running phpBB 2. You may not have seen but phpbb are not accepting any more mod releases for this version soon, so it looks like the mods for this will end there.

I saw on phpbb.com that you can no longer download 2 as an alternative now.
Even one of the forums has been locked.

The whole phpBB2 will be gone on there early next year, no more support, no mods, etc.

That kind of killed the PHP-Nuke popularity. The security will be gone. If nuke wasnt in bad shape before it is now. The creator actually sold the code soon after the phpbb2 announcement. He saw the curtain closing.

I am quite sorry to see phpBB2 disappear, it's an end of an era
I learnt a lot from phpBB2.
