Sorry for my "noob" question but I'm completely new to all of this and I was wondering what's the difference between the portal and forum verison of ModphpBB3. Thanks.

the forum version is like this website where you go straight to the forum, the portal version has the forum but when you go to the site it has a portal page first which can show latest posts, new members arcade scores etc kind of like a welcome page
