So lately I have noticed a lot of members writing me saying they are getting a message saying they are not authorized to use the forums. So I decided to use the test users permissions feature and noticed they arent even seeing any forums after logging in. How can I fix this do you know of any method where I wouldnt have to login to 1000+ users and do this? If I have too I will but I want my users to be able to get access.

Yep just set the default phpBB forum permissions for that usergroup in ACP.

All of that has been done. All users that register now can access the forums. Its the users I imported that cant. I have noticed if I set permissions for each one individually it will work. However I dont wanna do that for over 1000 users. I am not sure what to do.

Ah I understand now, I didn't realise the older members couldn't see some.

Are they in a seperate group? It seems weird that new members (obviously going into members group) can see it and would make more sense if the older members were in a different group?

On the sites status I have over 1000 members. But in the Registered Members Group only like 80 and they are recent ones I think. Dont know why. I really wanna figure it out. Also the older members still arent able to upload avatars. I have always had a hard time with setting permissions as I didnt know what I was doing but I think its right so not sure what is going on.

So the 80 are in registered members group in ACP-Groups and does it not show the others maybe in an additional group?

I'm not sure as you converted the other way, it's hard to see what has happened.

Nope. They arent showing up in any group.

I think that is issue of default phpbb3,i also had same issue with another moded version of phpbb3

That permission system is one thing which i hate on phpbb3

So you clearly haven't read Danny's thread and wanted just to get your hosting link in as a signature?

It isn't a default issue at all. He converted the user tables over and it has somehow affected older members and groups.

Ah yes indeed it is not i find for giving moderating privileges it is in special section.But i really dont remember that from previous versions of phpbb3. And i am here because i a testing various versions of moded phpbb3

So any ideas? I am so confused.
