For default sizes, go to ACP-Avatar settings.

To resize users avatar sizes to your specified size in ACP, use this mod

Not strictly the right thread but near enough.

LDM - we allow users to link to offsite pictures as avatars rather than allowing them to upload them so as to save on server space. However some people are linking to videos rather than just pictures. Any idea if this has a majorly detrimental effect on the speed that pages load as I think it might be having a negative effect.

Cheers

Loz, it would depend on how fussy you were with it. Users on dial up would definitely notice slower loading on pages, broadband connections you wouldn't really notice too much if at all.

It would also depend on how big the animated avatars are. Say someone took a long 40 second clip and turned it into a 8mb file, everyone would see a difference, at least initially.

You can restrict to maximum file sizes allowed I'm sure.

It would also depend (IMO) on what the animation was, some wouldn't even be worth having, and why let dial-up users wait a case of seconds longer to load a picture of a guy mowing a lawn! :D
